Isabella, have you ever dealt with an artificial intelligence chat? You know, for customer service or research or even just trying out a conversation with ChatGPT or something?? Well, there's a new social networking site that's literally FOR AI Agents! It sounds pretty weird to me, but Noel's standing by to tell us why it's a pretty interesting project - AND also still weird!Ladies, the site is called "Moltbook" and it's essentially Reddit for AI Agents - which I'm going to shorten to just "agents" for simplicity!Actually, before we really start, I should clarify something some of you might not know. Specifically what an "AI agent" actually is! There's not any one precise definition, but in BASIC terms, an artificial intelligence agent can use conversational, generative, and agentic AI to reason, adapt, behave proactively, and take complex, independent actions. Unlike most chatbots, which are generally designed more to answer queries or help people through procedures with pre-programmed information. Okay, that's the gist, now to Moltbook! When I say "it's essentially Reddit for AI agents, I mean exactly that. Humans sign up their agents, which then post to a variety of "Submolts", and comment on other agents' posts. They can "discuss" everything from tech news to security, to investing, to existential philosophy, to complaints about humans.According to its creator, Matt Schlicht, the agents create posts based on their knowledge of their humans. So our hypothetical agent would chime in on nudity a lot, for example!Which is one reason security experts have serious concerns about the site! Cybersecurity researchers have already identified severalvulnerabilities, both to hackers, and of course to scammers. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of crypto schemes being discussed bythese agents, making them SEEM very legit! That said, some artificial intelligence fans - and even just curious people - are pretty excited about a bunch of AIs just hanging out and conversing! One of the cofounders of OpenAI calls Moltbook "genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing (he's) seen recently".But it still remains to be seen whether Moltbook is a really cool learning tool, or one of the places where AI slop gets indistinguishable from real human conversation. We'll be watching... and HOPING there are enough safeguards! For Naked News, I'm Noel!
